Summary: MacAulay Askernish Ltd (MAL Civils) is recruiting for a Project Manager whose main role will be to manage a team to achieve delivery of civils, construction, and utilities projects to time, safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications. The role reports to the Senior Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the feasibility stage of multiple/major projects, ensuring thorough assessment and planning.
  • Provide guidance to team members to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient implementation of MAL Civils operations.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of work to the client as required.
  • Coordinate consenting processes, including obtaining necessary permits and approvals in conjunction with our consenting team.
  • Oversee planning activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage ecological assessments and findings, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Liaise with third parties to ensure the smooth implementation of work.
  • Report any concerns regarding SHEQ to the SHEQ team.
  • Manage and review the performance of staff reporting to you and identify training needs.
  • Ensure that all statutory records, certificates, licenses, notifications, and notices are in place.
  • Prepare project Safety, CDM plans, and Risk Assessments as part of the overall program.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to project delivery.
  • Utilise advanced tools and software for managing and reporting project progress.

Requirements:

  • Substantial background in project management.
  • Knowledge of civils, construction, and utilities projects.
  • Experience of working on asset replacement works.
  • Sound understanding of the financial aspects of projects.
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and its practical implications.
  • CDM knowledge.
  • NVQ / ONC / HNC or above in a relevant subject.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS or other safety-related qualification.
  • A formal project management qualification is preferred.
