MacAulay Askernish Ltd (MAL) successfully completed the £0.5m demolition of North Uist School project on behalf of Robertson Construction.
Works Commenced June 2016 with completion in September 2016.

PROJECT DELIVERY

The works were located off the northwest coast of Scotland on the Isle of North Uist. The works consisted of the demolition of the 10,000sq/m primary school. A section of the school was kept live while the completion of the new school adjacent to the site was being carried out.

The works location was very remote, in the small village of Bayhead, Isle of North Uist.

The works were contracted under NEC3 terms and conditions, MAL carried out the works in the spirit of NEC, ensuring an open & transparent relationship.

RESOURCEFUL

MAL carried out on-site crushing of all masonry material recovered from the demolition works. The recycled masonry was reused in the reinstatement of site.

ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS

MacAulay Askernish Ltd (MAL) provided in-house resources to carry out all works local labour and material.

The use of local labour, our own inhouse waste transfer facility and re-using of materials on site provided a more environmentally friendly project.
